What's new in v3.4.4: Dupes 🧹

We've been adding the features that matter most, one solid step at a time, while keeping CineLibrary fast and fully offline. The latest one is Dupes: it finds the movies you have more than once and helps you reclaim the space, without ever touching the copies you keep on purpose.

🧹 Dupes: find the movies you have twice

• Real duplicates, not false alarms. Matched by TMDb / IMDb id (then title + year), so two different films that share a name (Solaris 1972 vs 2002) are never merged.
• Protects your dubbed & edition copies. Keep the same film in different audio languages (Hindi plus the original, or Tamil / Telugu / Hindi) or different editions (Director's Cut vs Theatrical) and Dupes marks them kept on purpose, never flagged. Only genuine same-version copies are surfaced.
• A decision tool. It recommends the keeper (best resolution, then largest file), shows how much space you'd reclaim per set and in total, and lets you Open folder on any copy or send one to Watched & Gone.
• Ignore set. Tell Dupes a group is fine and it stays hidden, remembered across rescans.
• Non-destructive. CineLibrary never deletes your files. Delete a copy in Explorer, switch back, and the set updates itself.

• Add watched movie — in Watched & Gone, record a film you saw somewhere else — at the cinema, on a streaming service, or a friend's copy. Search TMDb, pick the match, and it's saved as a record with poster, top-billed cast, plot and details — plus your note, tags and the date you watched it.
• Fetch missing info from TMDB — a button on every movie's detail window fills only the blanks (poster, fanart, plot, cast, year, …). Matches by the movie's TMDb id, or a quick pick-from-list. Fill-only — your existing MediaElch data is never overwritten.
• Sync to drive (state + fetched art) — write your personal state and any fetched poster, fanart and cast photos back into the movie folders, with the rest recorded in a tiny sidecar. It never rewrites your .nfo, so the drive stays the source of truth and a rescan can't lose your fill-ins.
• Background material (Mica): Off / Subtle / Strong — pick how much wallpaper tint shows behind the sidebar. The poster grid always stays solid for smooth scrolling.

🎞️ Watched & Gone — the memory keeper it builds on

• Keep the memory, drop the file — right-click a movie (or multi-select several) → Send to Watched & Gone. It leaves your library but stays a record: poster, details, your notes, watched state, tags and history all kept. Your files on the drive are never touched.
• A page of its own — browse your records as a poster wall, search and sort them (Recently gone, Title, Year, Rating), restore any back to the library, delete a record for good, or export the list to CSV.
• Completely isolated — records never clutter All Movies, Search, Browse, Collections, Statistics, lists, tags or Discovery. Statistics shows a quiet tally instead.
• Review missing movies — when a scan finds files gone from disk, a tidy Review dialog pre-ticks the watched/noted ones to keep as records and lets you drop the rest — your choice, per movie.
• Smart about returns — re-download or move a record and it automatically revives into your library at its new home, notes and history intact, no duplicates (matched by IMDb/TMDb id, then title + year). Left in place, it stays a record.
• Safe & portable — records survive scans, cleanup, and removing a folder or whole drive; they travel with your portable folder and a Backup remembers them.

🪄 Recent releases, carried forward

• v3.3 — Watched & Gone — a permanent, isolated home for movies you've watched and let go: poster, notes, tags and history kept, smart revive on re-download, and a Review dialog for missing files.
• v3.2 — a fresh look — Windows Mica material behind a floating sidebar & content panel (toggle in Settings), global search moved into the title bar, a redesigned Drives page, consistent headers and toolbar, and snappier poster scrolling.
• v3.1 — sharper search — cleaner, more precise results with an All / Title / Cast & crew scope selector.
• v3.0 — Settings — theme, background material, card shadows and reduce-motion, all in one place.
• Everything from the v2.9 line (Discovery, watch history, tags, per-episode notes, backup/restore) carries forward unchanged.
